Howard Schatz
Howard Schatz is a very versatile photographer with many different types of style accumulating in his portfolio. My favorite is his most famous series: H2O, photographs taken in water. They have an ethereal flow about them. It makes me wonder how he can capture such graceful scenery. His other work includes a variety of sports ads and an ad for McDonalds. His depiction of the human body even the ones in stillness have a distinct energy about them that draws attention to people and makes his work successful.
Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams is a landscape photographer. His works captures the mood of nature. Each environment has a different force attributed to it. His works are mainly in black and white, probably to emphasize more on the form of nature than focus on its colors and distraction. The photographs cultivate an aesthetic appeal that allows viewers to appreciate or concern in awe the wonders of our surroundings.
Ann Geddes
She is a famous photographer of babies. I love them so much. It’s hard to take bad pictures when the subject is so adorable, but she makes them even cuter. She mostly depicts the children in their most serene pose, the way most people would want them to be. It makes them innocent and perfect. It shows her personality to be loving and nurturing and makes her and unique artist.
Annie Leibowitz
I hear about her a lot. Her work is always in fancy magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair. I think she may be one of the most talked about photographers of our time. Her work is very dynamic and has both peace and frantic about them. I’m not sure what it is, but they are all very beautiful. It captures celebrities in a way that is probably more like their own personalities than what they are famous for. It strips bare everything else and is probably why so many people admire her work.

Erwin Blumenfeld
I don’t particularly enjoy his work because it is so horrific in my taste, but I do think as a photographer he is successful. His photographs are so creepy and disgusting, usually showing possessed looking beings. They are awfully frightening, but I am sure many people appreciate how powerful it is. It certainly sends a loud scary message.
Cecil Beaton
He is a wonderful fashion and portrait photographer. Everything has a very classy fancy taste about them, an appeal to the rich so to speak. It looks like a very typical Conde Nast ad from the time Breakfast at Tiffany’s was released. I love the old traditional beauty sort of take on his work.
Lee Friedlander
I don’t think I would enjoy most of this guy’s work either, but I’m sure many other men have. As a playboy photographer, he has captivated vast amounts of young and old boys’ minds alike with pictures of the nude female in erotic positions. I guess, the kinkiness comes hand in hand with the line of work, but it’s a bit much for my feminist taste.
Art Wolfe
I think he is a truly inspiring artist, capturing the beauty of the world and turning it into philanthropy project. His masterful skills in composition and color in landscape, native cultures, and wild animals are jaws dropping. They are really beautiful pieces.
Irving Penn
He’s a really old photographer, but one of the best in his days. Top 10, perhaps. His portraits are in black and white – due to the time period. They all look incredibly interesting. They vary with personalities for each portrait, displaying the character of each subject. It is very clear to see which one is fashion and which one is about normal people.
Eugene Smith
Smith is most famous for his ability to capture life in all its essence. That is probably why he photographs for LIFE magazine. He is an extremely talented photojournalist, allowing the each culture to see the other half of the world.
Sam Abel
Abel is also a photojournalist. However, he works for National Geographic instead. Just with that title alone speaks much. National Geographic is very well known for its gorgeous photos of things around the world. Abel mainly photographs cultural and wilderness subjects and have done a vast numbers of projects that have allowed so many people to learn about the past and other people.
Robert Capa
Robert Capa aka Andre Friedman is a very interesting man for having an alter ego. His long life has enabled him to shoot a variety of things from different decades. But he always retains a similar style. He photographs things from the civil war to women. They all contain a graceful action.
Magaret Bourke
She is a really cool photojournalist. Looking at her images, I don’t even know how she was allowed to shoot so many things. She has a pictures of the Statue of Liberty’s head, Ghandi, and Inmates at
Louis Daguerre
He was one of the forefathers of photography and should be celebrated as such. He developed the method of fixing through experiment. I guess I would call him either an innovative artist or and experimental one. His experiments with light give him a wide range of moods in his works, but all look incredible and old.
Joel Meyerowitz
He has been dubbed with the title of a “street photographer”. He takes many photographs of random things. It would not be entirely inappropriate to call him a pop artist. What’s different about him from a lot of the other famous photographers is his enthusiasm for color. He is a master with that.
John Shaw
He is also an National Geographic photographer and appears like the type too if I must say so myself. He works mainly on wildlife and has published many successful books on it. He is a legend in imaging and printmaking.
Tyra Banks
I think she’s not an acclaimed photographer, but she’s making her mark. She was first a model, so she knows how to work angles. Her skills in that industry have developed her understanding of light and pose. I don’t know that much about photography, but I would say I really do like her fashion photographs.
